A family name is the beginning of the search
A broad family label helps people find products that may deserve a closer look. It does not establish that every rifle, receiver, or part carrying that label shares the same documented relationship.
PlinkBench therefore uses the 10/22 family as a navigation layer. The actual pairing answer belongs to an exact product record and an exact rifle or receiver record, with the maker statement kept at the scope in which it was published.
Fixed-barrel, Takedown, and receiver records stay separate
The current catalog keeps Ruger 10/22 model 32000, Ruger 10/22 Takedown model 32010, and the Faxon FF-22 Receiver Kit as separate research records. A pairing recorded for one does not automatically appear as the answer for another.
That separation is deliberately conservative. Even when a part maker uses broad family wording, exclusions or unresolved model boundaries can matter. The site preserves those boundaries until evidence and review support a narrower conclusion.
The model record anchors the evidence
An exact rifle or receiver identity gives each source statement somewhere precise to land. It also lets a later correction affect the right pairing instead of silently changing every product in the family.
A family-level maker statement can support Fits only when a reviewed deterministic scope record connects that statement to the exact rifle or receiver identity and preserves every stated exclusion. Without that bridge, the answer remains Not verified.
- Match the maker name and exact model or receiver label.
- Confirm the exact part variant rather than a similar family name.
- Read whether the source names the selected model, a bounded family, or only a general part class.
- Keep conditions, exclusions, and open questions attached to the pairing.
What changes when you choose a different host
Choosing another rifle or receiver on the bench changes the relationship being evaluated. The same part may have a reviewed answer for one record and no qualifying evidence for another. That is expected, not an inconsistency.
The whole-build decision remains separate as well. The current 10/22 research packs are In research, so individual Fits answers do not turn an unfinished collection of relationships into a Verified build.
A practical way to use the catalog
Start on the 10/22 platform page and identify the exact rifle or receiver you have. Then open the relevant part category, select that record on the bench, and read the evidence attached to each pairing answer.
When the answer is Not verified, the useful information is the reason: the maker may name only the broader family, omit the exact pairing, leave fitting work unresolved, or have no statement on file. That reason shows what is known without turning the gap into a recommendation.
